    John,
Yes, I am still here and alive at 88 and going strong after spine surgery two months ago. I do not know of any existing copies other than the one I have. It is a typed manuscript, and I know she shared with others, but I do not know who, and they would probably be dead by now anyway.

Unfortunately, there is basically no information in her booklet other than that she show:

Betsy Clark, b. 19 September, 1787, no information as to date of death or any information on her marriage. She References this information from the "Bahman Clark Bible". So evidently for some reason the family either did not know what happed to her or didn't enter the information. Her manuscript was really just a work in progress, never really finished. There were notes at the back of the notebook where the same information appears, giving the name Betsy and same date of birth. I assume that she arrived at the spelling of Betsy from the Bible. I have no idea what ever became of this bible, but it did not come down to me. I just went back to look in my computer file on Clarks and could find nothing else.

Sorry to disappoint you. What information do you have about her?

    Bob

    Birth:
Birth date as seeming reported in the Letson manuscript.

I am assuming that she was born in Poutney as her father was still there in 1790 census.

    Partial Abstract:

A very early settler in the town of Batavia (now Elba) was Samuel Clark who was born on March 19, 1757, son of Ruben Clark. On April 14, 1779 he married Mary "Mollie" Lee. They had 10 children: Lemuel L., William Henry Lee, Hannah, Abjiah, Betsy, Amy, Urania, Polly, Samuel J., and Bannon. Samuel died on March 15, 1815 and was interred in the Pine Hill Cemetary. Mary Clark died at the age of 84 years on July 12, 1844 and lies next to her husband in Pine Hill.

William Henry Lee Clark was born on March 4, 1782. He owned a farm at Pine Hill when the call went out for volunteers for the War of 1812. He was wounded in an engagement near Youngstown, NY and returned home to the farm where he died as a result on Nov 21 1812. His body was placed in Pine Hill as well. He married Mary "Polly" Rorabeck of Batavia on Nov 25 1805. She was a ntaive of Mt. Washington, Mass., coming to Batavia with her brother in 1802. She brought with her a little flax wheel with which she used to spin shoe thread. It was said that she was one of the greatest workers in the town; always busy; she made butter and cheese to sell, dried about 100 bushels of apples each year, and used her little flax wheel every spare moment. William and Mary had four children; Abjiah Lee born oct 2, 1806; Lorenzo born Nov 11, 1808; William Henry, Jr. born Sep 1810; and Homer born May 14, 1812.

Mary Rorabeck Clark, having 4 small children to raise in the wilderness, married again in 1814 to Patrick Kane. They had five children; Eliza, James, John, Harriet, and Charles Jr. She died on Aug 17, 1853 and is buried in Batavia.

Abjiah Lee Clark was working by the month at age of 14 years and by the age of 22 he had saved enough money to make a payment upon a farm of 80 acres which he purchased. On April 7, 1830, he married Phoebe A. Driggs, daughter of George and Sally (Cleveland) Driggs. After 6 years, he sold out and went to Lenawee Co., Michigan, where he bought 120 acres, settling on it in Sep 1837.

Hannah Clark, daughter of Samuel and Mary, was born on Nov 28, 1783. She married Peter Rice and settled in Elba. She passed away at the age of 20, on Nov 19, 1804, and was buried in Pine Hill Cemetary.

Polly Clark, as she was known, was another daughter of Samuel and Mary, having been born on July 13, 1794 as Mary Lee Clark. She was united in marriage with George Washington Parks in Elba on Nov 19, 1809. Polly passed away in Nov 22, 1866.

Samuel married Mary "Mollie" Lee 14 Apr 1779. Mary was born 17 Dec 1760; died 12 Jul 1844; was buried Aft 12 Jul 1844, Pine Hill Cemetery, Elba, Genesee Co., NY. [Group Sheet]
