Moses T. Fleming is mentioned in the will of Sarah Fleming as being the son of Samuel Fleming (see Moses T. Fleming's uncle - Moses Fleming).

In the Minutes of The Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions of Iredell Co., North Carolina, May, 1815 term, George L. Davidson and Joseph Murdah were appointed guardians to Moses T., David J., and James G. Fleming, orphans of Samuel Fleming. In an earlier session of the same Court (Nov term 1814), Mary Fleming wife of Samuel Fleming was given one year's allowance. This indicates that Moses T. was about fifteen when his father died.

Moses T. Fleming's first wife, Ruth, died shortly after the birth of their son, David Reece Fleming. David was born August 21, 1828 and Ruth died Sept 2, 1828 (most likely complications from child birth).

We know from census records that David Reece Fleming was born in North Carolina. It would appear that Moses T. Fleming went to Georgia sometime after the birth of his son and his first wife's death, probably because his uncle, the older Moses Fleming was in Georgia. It is certain that this move was made before his marriage to Theodosia James in 1833.

Moses married Frances M. Adams 12 Dec 1837, ____, Elbert Co., GA. Frances was born 22 Sep 1806, ____, ____, GA; died 7 Sep 1860, ____, Elbert Co., GA; was buried Aft 7 Sep 1860, Concord Church, Elbert Co., GA. [Group Sheet]

  2. 3.  Frances M. Adams was born 22 Sep 1806, ____, ____, GA; died 7 Sep 1860, ____, Elbert Co., GA; was buried Aft 7 Sep 1860, Concord Church, Elbert Co., GA.
