    Patricia Hallowell Stedman   
    88 of Bloomfield and Farmington, CT and Fishers Island, NY, died Friday, February 23rd, 2007. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 1st, 1918, daughter of the late John and Emma Hallowell, she attended Miss Porters School in Farmington, Connecticut, where she and her husband Theodore later lived for fifty years. An avid gardener, she was a member of The Farmington Garden Club, where she served as an officer on several occasions. She was also very involved with The West Hartford Art League and The Connecticut Institute for the Blind. She was a member of The Country Club of Farmington, the Fishers Island Club, and the Colony Club in New York City. She was predeceased by her husband Theodore Winthrop Stedman, in December 2006, and by her fourth child, John Hallowell Stedman, who died after a long illness exactly one week before his mother. She is survived by her children, Alexander A. McDonell of Bend, OR, Heath McDonell Missner of Wilmette, IL, and Theodore W. Stedman of Newburyport, MA. She is also survived by her eighteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday (Mar. 9) at 11:00 A.M. in St. James Parish, Mountain Rd., Farmington with the Rev. Jeffrey S. Dugan officiating. Arrangements are being handled by The Ahern Funeral Homes, Inc.

    Announcement has been made of the engagement of Mrs. Patricia Hallowell McDonnell of 120 East End Avenue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wallace of Longmeadow, Mass. to Theodore Winship Stedman, Jr., of Longmeadow, son of Theodore W. Stedman of Westport, Conn., and the late Mrs. Stedman.

    Mrs. McDonnell is the widow of Lieut. Alexander Angus McDonnell Jr., AAF, who was killed in action in June 1944. She attended Miss Porter's School in Farmington, Conn., and is a member of the Junior League.

    Mr. Stedman, who was born in Shanghai, China, is an alumnus of Phillips Exeter Academy and Harvard College, where he was a member of 1770, D.K.E., and the Stylus and Owl Clubs. He belongs ot the Harvard Club of New York and the Hartford Golf Club. The bridegroom-elect, a nephew of Mrs. Harold Wesson of Longmeadow, is a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore W. Stedman of Boston.

    Former Patricia Hallowell Wed to Theodore W. Stedman Jr. in St. James Church

    Mrs. Patricia Hallowell McDonnell of 120 East End Avenue, daughter of Mrs. Norman Wallace of Longmeadow, Mass., and the late John Wallace Hallowell of Philadelphia, was married to Theodore Winthrop Stedman Jr., son of Theodore W. Stedman of Westport, Conn., and the late Mrs. Stedman, yesterday afternoon in St. James Episcopal Church here. Suffragen Bishop-elect Horace W. B. Donegan, the rector, performed the ceremony.

    The bride, widow of Lieut. Alexander Angus McDonnell Jr., AAF, was given in marriage by her step-father , Mr. Wallace. A reception was help for the immediate families at the bride's home.

    After a wedding trip to Bermuda, the couple will reside in Farmington, Conn.

    Mrs. Stedman, a member of the Philadelphia Junior League, studied at Miss Porter's School in Farmington and made her debut in 1936 in Philadelphia. Her sister is Mrs. Howard Ferguson of Merion, Pa.

    Mr. Stedman, who was born in Shanghai, China, was graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and, in 1933, from Harvard University, where he was a member of the Hasty-Puddy-Institute of 1770 and the Stylus and Owl Clubs. He is a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore W. Stedman of Boston, a nephew of Mrs. Harold Wesson of Longmeadow, and a brother of Mrs. John Alden Briggs of great Neck, L. I. The bridegroom is with the Aetna Life Insurance Company in Hartford, Conn.
