Charles H. Steadman

Mr. Charles "Charlie" H. Steadman, 84, of Edgewater Drive, Westfield, NY, formerly of Lancaster, NY, passed away Monday, December 23, 2002, at home.

He was born in Lockport, NY, a son of the late Durward and Ethel (Budd) Steadman.

Mr. Steadman had been a Westfield resident since his retirement from Harrison Radiator 17 years ago. He was a member of the Chapel on North Forest Road, Williamsville. A 43 year employee of Harrison Radiator as an engineer, he was a member of the Society of American Engineers. He had a private pilots license for many years which he kept active. Charles was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, serving in the Pacific as a Seaman 1st Class. He attended ECC and Canisius College and held 4 degrees. He was the President of Budd Cemetery in Warrens Corners, NY for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors and flower gardening and most recently because a student of the Bible.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Muriel (Bowerman) Steadman of Westfield, NY; a daughter, Sheri Ryan of Palm Beach, FL; a son, Jeffrey Steadman of Chicago, IL; a sister, Loraine Tompkins of Newfane, NY; eight grandsons and one great-grandson.

Visitation at the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St, Westfield, Friday 3 PM-6PM and 45 minutes prior to services being held Saturday, December 28, 2002, at 11 AM at the Warrens Corners United Methodist Church, Warrens Corners, NY with Rev. Patricia Parrott and Rev. Rick George officiating. Interment Budd Cemetery, Warrens Corners, NY. Memorials may be made to Budd Cemetery or Warrens Corners United Methodist Church.
