    Obituary:
    WILLISTON - Services for James Earl Steadman Sr., 76, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Williston United Methodist Church with burial in Williston Cemetery, with Masonic rites accorded, the Revs. Tom Summers, Floyd Dukes officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Folk Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williston United Methodist Church, PO Box 401, Williston, SC 29853.

    Mr. Steadman died Thursday, June 8, at University Hospital, Augusta. Born in Saluda Co., he was a son of the late Henry Spann and Edna Thrailkill Steadman. He was a member of the Williston United Methodist Church, United Methodist men's club. He was a member of Hope Masonic Lodge #126, where he served as Worshipful master in 1965, and was Shriner 32nd degree Scottish rites. He had been a member of the Lodge for 54 years. Mr. Steadman was a member of the Williston Lions Club, former Town Council member, Lifetime National Rifle Association, Swamp and Hill Hunting Club, 278 Hunting Club, and Goff Hunting Club in Winnsboro. He retired from Dupont-S.R.P. after 29 years of service as a heavy equipment mechanic supervisor.

    Surviving are his wife, Virginia Goff Steadman; daughters and sons-in-law, Shelby Steadman and Joe Thad Coleman Sr. of Saluda, Deborah Steadman and Lonnie Terry Westbrook Sr. of Aiken; sons and daughters-in-law, James Earl and Brenda Brady Steadman Jr. of Williston, Robert Lee and Elaine Greene Steadman of Montmorenci, Van Norman and Barbara Cauthen Steadman of Varnville; sister and brother-in-law, Anita Steadman and Jack Venters of Darlington; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Henry Alonzo Steadman; sister, Louise S., Freeman.

    He died at University Hospital, Augusta.
