    JOANN MORGAN

    BROOKLYN - JoAnn Morgan, 61, of Brooklyn died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

    Born March 1, 1939, in Rushville to Floyd and Maxine Steadman Bedenbender, she married Ed Morgan in 1982 in Palmyra, Mo. He survives.

    Also surviving are her mother of Littleton; one son, Roger Wheeler of Rushville; two daughters, Heidi (and Scott) Van DeVenter of Versailles and Cindy (and Randy) Rhoades of Littleton; one stepson, Joe Morgan of Rushville; and four grandchildren.
    Her father and one son, Mike Wheeler, preceded her in death.

    She was an aide and drove a bus for handicapped children for the Schuyler School District for several years. She also had been a nurse's aide at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville for many years, retiring in 1998.

    She was a member of Brooklyn United Methodist Church, where services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Joe Tomich will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville. Burial will be in Brooklyn Cemetery.

    Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.

    JoAnn Morgan

    JoAnn Morgan, 61, of Brooklyn, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

    She was born March 1, 1939, in Rushville, the daughter of Floyd and Maxine (Steadman) Bedenbender. She married Ed Morgan in Palmyra, Mo., in 1982. He survives.

    Also surviving are her mother of Littleton; one son, Roger Wheeler (and friend Teddye Jones) of Rushville; two daughters, Heidi Van DeVenter (husband Scott) of Versailles, and Cindy Rhoades (husband Randy) of Littleton; one step-son, Joe Morgan (and friend Tina Montague); and seven grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her father and one son, Mike Wheeler.

    She was an aid and drove a bus for handicapped children in the Schuyler School District for several years. She retired from Culbertson Memorial Hospital in July 1998, after working as a nurse's aid for many years. She attended the Brooklyn United Methodist Church.

    She enjoyed crafting, sewing and traveling. She was very active and loved getting out and spending time with family and friends.
    Funeral services were Saturday at the Brooklyn United Methodist Church in Brooklyn with Rev. Joe Tomich officiating. Burial was in the Brooklyn Cemetery. Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville was in charge of services.

    Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
