ROYAL V. BECKSTEAD

Beloved husband, loving father and grandfather, Royal Victor Beckstead, age 91, passed away May 8, 1991 at his home in South Jordan, Utah.

Born January 23, 1900 in South Jordan, Utah, a son of Byram Henry and Annie Jane Holt Beckstead. Married Koradine Smith June 14, 1922 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Active member of the LDS Church. Served mission to Central States (Texas), 1924-25. Served as a bishop, Stake Presidency counselor, and Patriarch. Retired from Jordan School District as a custodian.

Survived by wife, Koradine, South Jordan; one son and five daughters, Mrs. Richard (LaRoyce) Fisher, and Mrs. Robert (Koradine) Schouten, both of South Jordan; Mrs. Jack (Myrl) Silcox, Riverton; Mrs. Ilene McDougal, Taylorsville; Keith and wife Fern Beckstead, Mesa, Ariz.; Mrs. Ronald (VaLoy) Stowe, Midvale; 49 grandchidlrn; 73 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister, Ed and Leonard Beckstead, both of Riverton; Fern Holt, South Jordan; Cloyde Beckstead, Farmington, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Melissa Beckstead, Midvale. Preceded in death by daughters, Rela Beckstead and Lois Millerberg.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12:30 p.m., at South Jordan River Stake (Formerly South Jordan East Stake), 1570 West 11400 South. Friends may call Friday, 4:30-8 p.m. at the West Jordan McDougal Mortuary, 1861 West 7800 South, and Saturday, at the church 11:15-12:15 p.m. Interment, South Jordan City Cemetery.
