    Bernice Willoughby 1926 ~ 2008

    KANAB/HOYTSVILLE- Bernice Willoughby, 82, passed away on October 22, 2008, in Kanab, UT, of natural causes.

    She was born June 20, 1926, in Hoytsville, UT, to Heber and Rose Brown Sargent.

    She married Leonard Willoughby Jr. on April 6th, 1944, in Pocatello, ID. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

    Bernice was raised in Hoytsville where she lived 77 of her 82 years. The past four being a resident at the Beehive Assisted Living home in Kanab where she was well taken care of. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout the years, her favorite being a pianist for the Primary. She played the piano and organ beautifully and had a great love for music. She also loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. She was well known for her beautiful quilts she made for all kids, grandkids, and anyone else lucky enough to receive one. She was a wonderful cook. She loved to do genealogy. She was a great example to her family and will be greatly missed. She was very ready to meet her Savior.

    She is survived by: daughter, Kristine (Bud) Schreiber, Hurricane; sons, Jerrold (Cheryl), Upton; and Stuart (Kim), Kanab; 13 grand-children and 21 great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Leonard; her oldest daughter Linda; her first grandson, Justin; her parents and siblings.

    Viewing will be at the Hoytsville, UT. LDS Chapel, Saturday, Oct. 25th, 2008 at 11 a.m. Graveside will be at the Hoytsville Cemetery Saturday, Oct. 25th, 2008 at 12:30 p.m.
