Marriage Announcement:
- MISS ANITA GREW TO BE WED TODAY
Civil Ceremony for Ambassador's Daughter and Robert English to be Held at Istanbul City Hall.
ISTANBUL, Feb. 24 (AP).-- The Turkish civil marriage of Miss Anita Grew, daughter of United States Ambassador Joseph C. Grew, to Robert English will be performed tomorrow at the Istanbul City Hall and the religious ceremony and a reception will take place at the embassy on Saturday.
The witnesses at the civil ceremony will be Mouhieddine Bey, Governor of Istanbul, and Sir George Clerk, British Ambassador.
The engagement of Miss Grew and Mr. English was announced in December, in Istanbul, by her parents. In August of last year Miss grew swam the length of the Bosporous from the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmora, for which feat she received a silver medal from the president of the Turkish Water Sports Federation.
Mr. English is secretary to the American Legation at Bangkok, Siam. He was previously vice consul at Istanbul.

ISTANBUL, Turkey, Feb. 25.-- For the first time in history, an Ambassador's daughter was married by Turkish civil authorities today when Miss Anita Grew, daughter of the American Envoy, Joseph C. Grew, and Mrs. Grew, became the bride of Robert English, the ceremony being performed by the Kaimakam [Governor] of Pera. The Mayor of Istanbul assisted, and the Kaimakam made an address in which he expressed appreciation of the honor extended by the bride and bridegroom in following this country's law.
The civil authorities of Istanbul sent to the couple two valuable Turkish rugs as a present.
A religious ceremony will be performed on Saturday.
