    Notes
    • MRS. JOSEPHINE HENDERSON, wife of N. B. Henderson and daughter of Mrs. James Steadman, of Bonaparte, Iowa, died at her home in St. Joe, Missouri, May 23, 1894, at the age of 41 years and 7 months.

The deceased was born and raised in Bonaparte and was loved and respected by all who knew her. In 1873 she was married to N. B. Henderson of Centerville, Iowa. To this union five children were born, four of whom are left to mourn the loss of a fond and loving mother's care. Also a kind husband, an aged father and mother and brothers and sisters.

She was a member of the Christian church at Centerville, Iowa, of which she always remained a faithful and consistent member.

Mrs. Henderson's death was caused by quick consumption the result of a grippe.  Her death was very sudden and unexpected to her friends and relatives, and when she realized the end was near she called her husband and children to her bedside and bade them farewell. She died trusting in her Savior, and with the hope of the resurrection morn.

Words of comfort were spoken by the Rev. Mr. Hanna, of the M. E. church, the services being held at that church.  Many flowers were sent by friends and relatives in Bonaparte, also her friends and neighbors in St. Joe testified to their high regard for her by gifts of many beautiful floral pieces.  There was a large concourse of friends and relatives from Bonaparte, and Centerville, Iowa, and Atchinson, Kansas, followed the remains to the Ashland cemetery, where they await the coming of the Life Giver.
