  Notes	Louise Miller Steadman told Norman Steadman that Jane Miller was part American Indian. Everett Miller also told his daughter that his grandmother was American Indian.  On Jane's death certificate her mother is listed as Laura Wood. No father is listed, if she is part Indian it could on her father's side. This could be why her maiden name was listed as the same as her husbands. It is also possible that her maiden name was Miller. A marriage record in the town of Warren lists a Laura A. Wood marrying a Willard Miller from New Hampshire. This could be true, Jane and Alanson named their second son Willard.  More investigation is needed to solve this mystery. Jane died in Waitsfield, Vt. and then was buried in Warren, Vt. in the Village cemetery where her husband Alanson Miller was buried, but there is no longer a stone or marker there if there ever was one. Jane's occupation on her death certificate is listed as housekeeper. Cause of death was listed as cancer of the liver and stomach.
