Notes |
- Daniel Judd enlisted, 1775, under Capt. Benedict Arnold. He was at the siege of Boston and gave valuable service until wounded at Fort Griswold, 1781. When Arnold attacked New London, he was one of the brave defenders and was among the wounded who were rolled down the embankment into the river Thames. Some American soldiers returning to give their comrades decent burial, found him with his feet only under water, and life was not extinct. He recovered and died at Colchester, honored as a patriot and a soldier.
