In re Robert Clarke deceased
I Robert Clarke of the Town of Brigus Planter, District of Port De Grave
realizing the uncertainty of life and being of feeble health but of sound
mind memory and judgment do make and declare this to be my last will and
testament in manner and form following to witt

First I give devise and bequeath to my son Robert my house and furniture
[except the organ which belongs to my daughter Gertrude] he is to have and
to hold as long as he lives in it or as long as he wants to hold it but if
he sells it and half of the land with house the money is to be equally
divided between my two sons and my two daughters and my son William is to
have the first offer to buy it
there is to be a home for my two daughters while they remain unmarried
My house and land is not to be sold to John Clarke or any of his relations
or his wife or any of her relations or to anyone that would pass it over to
that family
it will be illegal and the sale will be canceled
I also give to my son Robert four hundred dollars to have and to hold onto
my son Robert his heirs and assigns forever

Second I give and bequeath to my daughter Gertrude the sum of four hundred dollars
Bond of the United towns Electric Company also the Nfld Government War Loan
Bond of one hundred dollars

Third I give and bequeath to my son William half of the meadow between
William's house and the Gushue and Percys fences
the fish store and stage by the water side belongs to my son William but if
Robert remains in Brigus he is to have the same use of the wharf as William
the right of way from the waterside to the old house by way of my dwelling
house must not be stopped to any of the family
the big store by the waterside and the old house by the hill to remain
unsold for the use of the family after my death
there is to be one twenty dollar gold piece for each of my two sons and two
daughters and what ever gold remains is for my daughter Gertrude
all the moneys in Bank or elsewhere after my death is to be equally divided
between my two sons and my two daughters
I hereby nominate and appoint William J. Clarke and Robert A. Clarke the
executors of this my last will and testament and revoke all other and former
wills made by me
in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first
day of April nineteen hundred and twenty Robert Clarke
Signed sealed declared and acknowledged by the above named testator to be
his last will and testament in our presence and we each at his request and
in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribe our names as
witnesses John Gushue James Chalker
