  	Bruce Earl Carlson Longtime Parkland businessman Bruce E. Carlson, 83, died June 16, 2007 at his Clear Lake home. Born at Brustad, Venneshamn, Norway, he was a 1942 graduate of Lincoln High School and served in the U.S. Army with the 155th Engineer Combat Battalion in the Pacific Theater during World War II. In 1947 Carlson married Georgiana Stedman. He managed the Tacoma branches of Refrigerative Supply and later Refrigerating and Power Specialties Co. for nearly two decades. In the mid-1950s he also opened a used car dealership which operated for 35 years, serving many repeat customers and multiple generations of several families. Since 1949, he had been a member of the Tacoma Elks Lodge. He was a founder of the Clear Lake Community Club and a member of Antlers Aweigh and a past officer of the Viking Yacht Club, South Puget Sound Independent Auto Dealers Association and RSES. In the early 1980s, he and Georgiana moved from Parkland to Clear Lake, near Eatonville, where he had enjoyed fishing and boating since boyhood. They spent many winters in Yuma and also maintained a home near Coupeville, where they were avid crabbers and clammers. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Georgiana, daughters Linda (Jim Beaty) of Seattle, and Gayle of Tacoma, grandchildren Eric Beaty, Annapolis, MD, and Karen Beaty, Seattle, niece Diane Jensen, Salton City, CA, and nephew Larry Carlson, Gig Harbor. Celebration of Life at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 14 at Fir Lane, 924 East 176th St., Spanaway. Reception to follow. Memorials requested to Camp Arnold, Salvation Army, P. O. Box 1254, Tacoma 98401.
