"Billy" was the son of John and Jemima (Turner) Parris.

He was born on the banks of Buck Creek and lived his entire life within a five mile radius of the Buck Creek Baptist Church.

About 1825 he married Mary "Polly" Ezell. He was a farmer and also ran a saw mill. According to deeds this mill was located on the south side of the Pacolet River,on both sides of the big road crossing Parris Ford Bridge.

On 9 July 1852 (deed Bk. BB pgs 586,587,588) He deeded his three married sons over 100 acers each. They read to my son David, to my son Abram and to my son Henry. William Ezell (Polly's grandfather) was witness to all these deeds. Was this Ezell Land ? I could not find any record of William buying any land before this time. Later he bought 301 acres of land from Daniel Cantrell. On 28 Dec 1855 he deeded 150 acres of this same land to his son-in-law, William C Clements, for $150.00 to be deducted from my estate at my death. Land on Little Buck Creek.

After the Civil War thay watched most of their children move west. Most choose Tennessee, others to Texas. We know daughter, Sarah stayed in the Buck Creek Church community.

On 20 Nov 1880 (Deed bk QQ, pg 446)" William Parris to James T. Cantrell; provided that I am to be cared for and supported by J.T. Cantrell, 225 acres on the Pacolet River, where I now live. Said J.T. Cantrell is to move into my house and treat me and my wife, Polly Parris and Dorcus Ezell as members of the family."
Only three days later, Dorcus Ezell died. Billy and Polly both died three years later. He was the father of ten children.
