WATFORD CITY -- Georgia Sursa, 86, Watford City, died Jan. 23, 2005, at a Watford City hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home Chapel, Watford City. Cremation has taken place.
She is survived by one daughter, Georgia Lamkin, Surprise, Ariz.; one son, Robert Kregas, Hillside, Ill.; four grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Conant, Germany; and three sisters, Ada Judkins, Watford City, Alice Stedman, Post Falls, Idaho, and Edith Miles, Libby, Mont. WILLISTON, N.D. - Memorial services for Georgia Sursa, 86, of Watford City, will be Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home Chapel in Watford City. Father John Pfeifer will officiate. Cremation has taken place.
Georgia was born December 18, 1918, at Watford City, the daughter of Harold and Thora (Vollebrecht) Conant. She was raised on the family farm and educated in country schools. In 1942, Georgia met and married Alphonse Kregas. They lived in North Dakota for a time before moving to Pennsylvania where Alphonse received his discharge from the service. They subsequently moved to Chicago for employment.
Georgia worked at numerous restaurants in Chicago before returning to Watford City in 1989. She lived at Hillside Court before moving to the Manor and eventually entering Good Shepherd Nursing Home. She died at McKenzie County Memorial Hospital on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005.
She is survived by one daughter, Georgia Lamkin and her husband, Michael of Surprise, Ariz; one son, Robert Kregas and his wife, Deborah of Hillside, Ill; four grandchildren, Keith Janota, Debra (Dan) Travers, Denise (Craig) Shepherd, and Brian (Kathleen) Kregas; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Barb) Conant of Germany; three sisters, Ada Judkins of Watford City,, Alice Stedman of Post Falls, Idaho, and Edith Miles of Libby, Mont; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; two sisters, Marjorie Johnson and Evelyn Froholm; and two brothers, Harold Conant and Robert Conant.
Fulkerson Funeral Home of Watford City is in charge of arrangements.
