  Notes	Aunt Joyce (wife of Earl) has tin type photos of the "twins". 1998. In the 1908 Atlas of Grand Traverse Co., MI, Dewitt J. Steadman owns the property previously owned by S.V. Steadman on the 1881 Atlas as well as additional acreage adjacent on the south totally 114.8 acres.  The railroad obviously went in (through the property) sometime between 1881 and 1908.  The house shown on the 1881 atlas is not on the 1908 atlas. We observed a house on that site 4/18/1999 that appears to have been added on to and renovated, however, not certain if it is the original homestead. The 1900 soundex lists Jay D. Steadman, widowed,  with son Emory and daughter Lucy.  Could not find the pre-1900 death of his wife in Grand Traverse Co. death records on the G.T. Co. gen web site. Unable to locate Jay in the 1910 Michigan soundex. 1900 and 1920 Census both show his father born Canada, mother born NY.
