They arrived in Adelaide under the Australian Assisted Immigration scheme on the P&O strathnaver; South Australian Maritime Museum records show that John (he was always called John in the family) and Doreen arrived here together with 9 year old son Ian Pearson and Doreen's widowed mother Helen Mary Spotswood (nee Creighton) aged 73. Both John & Doreen were 43 on arrival. I know Ian married a girl Vicky(Vicki?), and for at least some time were living in Sydney. Helen died in South Australia. John and Doreen lived in Elizabeth, South Australia; he was an accountant. The family lost touch with them and I have been unsuccessfully trying to find out their death dates and places. Your mention of other marriages for them is therefore of some concern as the many family photos from the 1940's, 50's and so on, right through to the loss of contact somewhere in the 1985-95 period, show a closely knit family. Could you please pass on any other knowledge you may have? Our family records show that Doreen was born 1914, Greenwich London UK and was married 1939 Lewisham, London, UK.
