- Robert Steedman married Janet Landalls sometime before 1708 and they settled in St. Monance Parish in County Fife, Scotland where all of his known children were born. He was a shipwright there. His whereabouts after 1726 when his last child was baptised is unknown; however, it is believed that he moved to the city of Dumfries in County Dumfries, Scotland, where his youngest son is said to have lived before emigrating to America prior to the Revolutionary War.
The Baptisms of all of the known children are recorded in the registers of Saint Monance Parish.Settled in St. Monance Parish, County Fife, Scotland. Believed to have moved to County Dumfries, Scotland where his youngest son, James, is thought to have lived before moving to America.
