Margaret's ashes are still in Madison, I believe; they have not been taken to Arlington Nat'l yet.
    Notes
    • From Gus Steadman, November 2012:

After Ralph died,  Margaret did not remarry. She went back to teaching, first in Hershey, PA, then New York, then Richland Center, WI. She was still teaching ESL when she died. She was (maybe still) buried in Madison, but her wish was to be buried with Ralph in Arlington and some of my cousins may have done it, they're planning to. There's a Steadman theater at the PA state university - for Grace- in Hershey/Mansfield. Also, some Steadman building or something at the state university in Kearney NE, either for Joseph or Grace.

Margaret did an oral history in 1994 at the age of 99. Her mind was remarkably clear, she was fit (still driving meals-on-wheels to the old people in Madison and got her license renewed 3 years later with a road test)

Did you know she was featured in an opening of SouthPark (season 3 episode 17, The World Wide Recorder Concert)? She's the 104 year old woman in the photo immediately before the photo of Yoko Ono.

There's some comment in it about Joseph [Steadman] sailing around the Cape at age 15 and jumping ship in Boston, then going to Iowa as well as a lot of stuff about Margaret's Dick & Dobson families, as is to be expected because it was her history, but she was trying to fill in the Steadman story as well.

There's also a long typed narrative about Angus - she always called him Angus which I didn't know - and her homesteading in Wyoming. It does confirm that they were married in Douglas, AZ the night she and Grace arrived there, January 25th, 1918.
