Griffin Feb 8 1876 aged 64 years. Also a picture of the Griffin house in Harford. Letter May 17, 1967 from Mrs. Jessie Valentine. Said she was told Simeon Rich Griffin was a State Senator (NY). Sept. 1995. IGI New York Page 20,943. Gives birth date and birth place of S.R. Griffin. Also date and place of marriage to Semantha Slosson. Information submitted by Eliza and S.B. Rust. September 8, l995. Prodigy Interactive Personal Service. From Kenneth Ferguson MRXT60A. He mentions the "Barton-Stedman Memoirs" by John Stedman, updated 1897 by Arthur Stedman. The University of South Carolina has a copy. They also have a Stedman-Barton family tree. The Stedman book covers 25 or 30 generations back to ca 1100 in England, and the Stedmans which came to South Carolina about 1750/60. It includes many of their present day descendents. In addition, John (/) Stedman wrote a book in1857 in England-that book is rare and hard to find.
