  	Evelyn Cripe SAN DIEGO  CALIF - Evelyn (nee: Stedman) Cripe, 94, passed away peacefully in a San Diego, Calif. hospice on September 27, 2001. Evelyn was born in Waupaca on December 11, 1906, a daughter of the late Herbert and Cora (nee: Durant) Stedman.  She attended Lawrence University in Appleton graduating in 1930.  Shortly thereafter she married a fellow student, Harold E. Cripe.  After a short stay in Mosinee, where Harold taught school, they moved to Racine where he became an elementary school principal.  In 1955 they moved to Rainbow Lake near Waupaca and Harold taught in the Waupaca Public Schools until he retired in the early 1960's.  In 1973 the Cripes moved to San Diego, Calif.  Harold Cripe died in 1986 and shortly thereafter Evelyn moved to the Cloisters of the Valley in San Diego, Calif. where she pursued her interests in painting and art shows until just a week before her death.  Mrs. Cripes is survived by two daughters, Helen Hippaka of San Diego and Judith Fisher of Atlantis, Fla.  She further survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  A private burial service will be held at the Barton Cemetery, Township of Farmington, Waupaca County.  There will be no visitation.  Donations to Sharp Hospice Care, 9472 Loren Dr., La Mesa, Calif. would be appropriate and appreciated.  HOLLY FUNERAL HOME 526 South Main Street Waupaca 715-258-4020.
