John,
Here's what I have regarding Samuel & Elizabeth Ineson.
[from my cousin Adeline, original source uncertain] "Samuel Ineson - born October 1809; died 20 August 1854, at age 44 years and 10 months. He married Elizabeth Lee, parents unknown and after Samuel's death she married a man by the name of Morehouse. I have been told that Samuel and Elizabeth had eight children but I have only the names of four of them. They are:-
1) Caroline born 1851 Apr 16 in Massachusetts ...
2) Mary ...
3) Benjamin ...
4) George [b. abt 1845] ..."
Additionally, I have:
5) Elizabeth b. abt 1830
6) Samuel b 1849 Aug 4 in Massachusetts, Suffolk, Roxbury
[from RI Genealogical Register, Jan 1979, p. 180] "[James Frank Holland] married (2) after 1877 Mrs Caroline (Ineson) Taylor, widow of Benjamin N. Taylor, born 16 Apr 1851 in Massachusetts daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Lee) Ineson who were probably from West Riding, Yorkshire, England. She was the youngest of nine children and the only one born in America."
[1860 census, page 19, Richmond RI] This lists Elizabeth Ineson age 50, Eliza age 30, George age 15, and Caroline age 9, all born in England.
[probably from town hall Wakefield RI] marriage record 1865 Jan 20: George Ineson & Emeline Willson. George indicated as: age 21, farmer, England-Yorkshire, Samuel & Elizabeth.
Since Samuel (the son) was probably born in Roxbury and Caroline was also probably born in Massachusetts, and since Elizabeth (Samuel's wife) seems to be in the 1860 Richmond RI census, I would speculate that both Samuel and Elizabeth ended up in the US.
John, you indicated Elizabeth as being born in West Riding. That seems likely. Do you have any specific evidence?
Thanks, R. Carl Jackman ReginaldJackman@aol.com
