  	Barrett T. Steadman 1927 ~ 2003 PRESTON, IDAHO -- Barrett Thomas Steadman, 76, died Tuesday, October 14, 2003, at the Franklin County Medical Center. He was born Feb. 4, 1927, in West Jordan, Utah, the eldest son of Thomas and Hortense Hartson Steadman. He attended Jordan High School and Utah Technical Institute where he served as Student Body President. On July 2, 1948, he married Iyla Jean Hendricksen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After his marriage, Barrett farmed in West Jordan, Utah. In 1966, Barrett and Iyla Jean sold their farm in West Jordan and relocated to Preston, Idaho where they purchased the John Deere Equipment Dealership. Subsequently, Barrett formed Intermountain Dairy Cattle (now known as Steadman Dairy Cattle) and began buying and selling cattle to dairy farms in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Japan, and Korea. In 1983, he was joined in that business by his son, Michael Barrett Steadman. He is predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Iyla Jean Hendricksen Steadman. He is survived by his wife, Dottie Steadman and his children, Tomie Jean Brown, Michael Barrett Steadman, Janene Curtis and Kathy A. Steadman. He is also survived by his brother and best friend, Robert H. Steadman, and by nine loving grandchildren. It was impossible not to get caught up in his spirit and influenced by the power of his presence and personality. We can remember and honor him best by keeping his spirit and determination alive in each of us. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Cove Utah LDS Chapel with Bishop Mark Irvine conducting. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, Idaho, and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church in Cove. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
