  	LaVieve Farnsworth Swenson, our beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born in Colonia Dublan, Mexico on August 24, 1928, the 9th child of Ella Romney Farnsworth and Wilford M. Farnsworth. She graduated from the Juarez Stake Academy High School in Mexico and attended BYU. LaVieve married Dr. Eugene J. Swenson in the Mesa Arizona Temple on August 30, 1949. Gene passed away on September 25, 2005. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her children are: Dr. E. James (Jim) Swenson, Jr. (Tamy) of New York, Ann Glover (Mark), Debra Swenson, Sandra Huber (Dale), Shellie Huish (Patrick) of Idaho, Suzette Hathcock (Cliff) and Donald Smith (Patsy). LaVieve is survived by all of her children and sisters-in-law Ruth Johnson and Jaque Swenson and brother-in-law Dr. Lynn Swenson. Gene and LaVieve's posterity includes 33 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. She stands as a righteous matriarch over her family and has never faltered in her example. She had a tender heart for those in need and quietly befriended and served others. LaVieve had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met. LaVieve was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many capacities including stake and ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary organizations. She served for 20 years in the Mesa Arizona Temple with Spanish speaking members. LaVieve had a great love for her cherished family and her many dear friends and acquaintances. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10:00 am in the LDS Chapel by the Temple, 525 E. 2nd Ave, Mesa, AZ 85204, with a viewing starting at 8:30 am prior to the services. Burial will be in the City of Mesa Cemetery. Meldrum Mortuary handled the arrangements.
