  	Beatrice Woodbury Warren was born on November 7, 1912 in St. George, UT. She was the second oldest of 7 children born to Joseph and Olive Woodbury. Her family moved to Fresno, California when she was 7 years old. After graduating from Fresno High School, she earned her nursing degree from Merritt Nurses College in Oakland, CA. In the 1930's, she was nursing director for healthcare in the migratory camps in Southern California which were populated by the "Dust Bowl Okies." She later became the head nurse at Westinghouse Corporation in Sunnyvale, CA. Bea retired from nursing at the age of 62. She then began a career as a successful author. She published 10 novels and scores of magazine and newspaper articles. She published her 10th novel when she was 90 years old. At the age of 92, she moved to Oklahoma City to be near her son and his family. She enjoyed playing Bridge and continued to play well past her 100th birthday. She passed away on December 17, 2013, one month and 7 days after her 101st birthday. She is survived by her son, Al Warren; daughter-in-law, Anne Warren, and her two grandsons, Shane and Blake Warren. A memorial service will be held at the Baptist Village chapel, 9700 Mashburn Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to Project Eliminate, a global effort to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus, a leading cause of infant deaths.
